wednesday is only two days away...what shall i make?!

so i've committed (maybe we) to wednesday dinners at home -- home cooked with special care...to be documented here...on this blog  sometimes it will just be us, but i hope to feel confident enough for guests before the spring --- as soon as i can master the art of timing -- having all dishes arrive at perfection in a matter of minutes  (what i consider the most challenging part of cooking).  i have a habit of over focusing on finishing one dish only to realize another needed to be simmering/cooking/soaking in the meantime.  so planning is of upmost importance.  i also am a strong believer that good ingredients -- fresh herbs, fresh seafood, etc. make all the difference in the world...so while these meals won't be expensive by nature, there will be little thought about the ingredients that matter (in my opinion anyways).  a few caveats -- i am quasi (or totally?) allergic to garlic - weird, right?, i am a pescatarian, and am trying to cut back those evil carbs in 2012 -- so recipes may reflect these reservations, but i am also not against cooking things that are for others to enjoy.  my fiance is pretty open to most any foods & loves spicy things...so i've got an open eater on that front.
